Car crash sends woman to hospital
A WOMAN was rushed to hospital after she was involved in a car crash during peak hour this morning.
At about 8:10am, a Holden Commodore turned right out of Richmond Hill Road at Goonellabah and onto Ballina Road, where it collided head-on with an eastbound vehicle.
The 40-year-old female driver of the eastbound vehicle was not trapped but remained in her car until paramedics arrived.
She sustained chest injuries and was transported to Lismore Base Hospital in a stable condition.
The two occupants of the other vehicle were uninjured.
NSW Ambulance, Police and NSW Fire and Rescue crews from Lismore attended the scene.
Traffic slowed to a crawl on the busy road for about an hour following the crash and until tow trucks and the fire brigade cleared the road.
