One in hospital following car crash at Goonellabah

UPDATE 9.45am: A MAN in his 50s was taken to Lismore Base Hospital in a stable condition following a three car crash on Oliver Ave and the intersection of the Bruxner Highway this morning.

A NSW Ambulance spokesman said paramedics were called to the roundabout near Pineapple Rd about 6.30am after reports a man was trapped following a collision.

When paramedics arrived they assessed three patients at the scene, the spokesman said.

A man in his 50s, who was initially thought to be trapped in his car was taken by ambulance to hospital.

A Newcastle Fire Communications spokesman said NSW Fire and Rescue were called to the crash scene at 6.57am after reports of oil on the road.

The crash scene was cleared by 7.30am and traffic returned to  normal on the Bruxner Highway.

 

INITIAL REPORT: EMERGENCY services are on the scene of a car crash on the Bruxner Highway at Goonellabah.

Inspector Mark Minehan from Richmond Local Area Command confirmed police officers were on the scene of the crash, which he said did not seem to be as serious as originally reported.

The crash took place on the roundabout on the intersection of the Bruxner Highway with Pineapple Road and Oliver Avenue. 

It is not known how many cars were involved or if there are any serious injuries.
