Car burnt after tearing up soccer fields

A CAR was set alight after being used to tear up two soccer fields in East Lismore last night.

Unidentified individuals cut the chains gaining access to the fields at the Lismore Thistles Soccer Club in Military Road.

They then drove the car onto the field and did burn-outs across both soccer fields.

The car was then set on fire in a corner of the secondary soccer field.

It is the third time in the past two years vandals have damaged the clubs fields with vehicles.

Lismore Thistle Soccer Club president Paul Albertini is liaising with the police today regarding the incident.
