Cansdell happy with education change

THE new NSW Government’s move to shift responsibility for early childhood learning to the Department of Education is good news for local preschools, Clarence MP Steve Cansdell has said.

“We made this election promise and implemented it in Government because under the previous Government, preschools were treated as a second class form of education in the Community Services portfolio,” Mr Cansdell said.

“This is more than symbolic as all NSW schooling will now be the responsibility of the Minister for Education, the Nationals Adrian Piccoli.

“I have long been an active supporter of local preschools with my annual Pedal for Preschools fundraising bike ride.

“I am therefore delighted they are now getting the recognition they deserve.”
