Cannabis, cash and rifle seized in Northern Rivers raid

A DRAKE man is facing eight charges after police raided his property and allegedly found cannabis plants, heads, cash and a rifle

Lismore police Chief Inspector Nicole Bruce said about 11am on Tuesday police conducted a search warrant operation at a Drake address.

"Police located 18 well established cannabis plants ranging between 2.5 and 3 metres tall," she said.

"A total of 11.1kg of cannabis head, 6.9kg of cannabis stem containing cannabis head and 11.3 grams of cannabis leaf was allegedly found by officers.

"Also located was a .22 calibre Sterling rifle and ammunition and a quantity of cash."

Chf Insp Bruce said following the search the 55-year-old man was arrested and charged with numerous drug and firearm offences.

She said the man was charged with cultivating a prohibited plant, possessing a prohibited plant, possessing a prohibited drug, supplying cannabis, dealing with suspected proceeds of crime, unauthorised possession of a firearm, possessing an unregistered firearm and not keeping a firearm safe.

The man was granted strict conditional bail to appear at Casino Local Court on May 4.
