Can you help find shelter for some rescued horses?

IF you have some corrugated tin sheeting lying around, Northern Rivers Horse Rescue founder Cherie Shepherd is looking to buy some second-hand to build a horse shelter.

The shelter will be built for three neglected horses who were recently found extremely malnourished, and have now recovered at their new Rosebank home.

But Ms Shepherd said the horses don't have an undercover shelter to protect them from rain.

"Horses hate the rain ... they get rainscald (a common skin disease) and they go downhill fairly quickly if they're left out in the rain for long periods of time," she said.

Ms Shepherd is looking for 16x2 and16x3 metre lengths or longer, and the tin need to be in good condition with no rust.

"It's got to be good tin ... we'll pay for it, we just can't pay commercial prices," she said.

If you think you can help, give Cherie a call or text on 0481 321 358.

Northern Rivers Horse Rescue is a non-profit organisation serving Lismore, Nimbin, Ballina and Byron Bay.
