Call for witnesses to tailgating incident

POLICE are appealing for the victims of a tailgating incident that happened near Kyogle on Tuesday to contact them.

About 3.40pm on Tuesday afternoon Kyogle police station received a phone call from a woman stating that her vehicle was being tailgated on the way in to Kyogle.

Police said the driver of the tailgating vehicle was allegedly waving his arms about and yelling at the woman, who also had her husband and their three children in the car.

The woman told police the tailgater also threw a bottle at their car.

Police responded immediately and intercepted the described vehicle as it travelled at excessive speed along Kyogle Road towards Kyogle.

The vehicle was stopped on Summerland Way where the man was subjected to a breath test which returned a positive reading.

He was arrested and taken to Kyogle Police Station where he was charged with mid-range PCA and his licence was suspended.

Police are requesting that the family that were tailgated contact Kyogle Police on 6632 1444.

The only information known is that they were travelling in a blue Mitsubishi Magna.
