Byron ecstasy dealer faces life behind bars

A BYRON BAY businessman who police allege is a "major player" in a North Coast ecstasy ring remains behind bars.

Adam Brown, 36, did not appear in Lismore Local court today to answer six charges including supplying a commercial quantity of a prohibited drug which brings a sentence of life in prison if convicted.

The police allege over a three months period this year Brown conducted at least six significant ecstasy transactions of up to 858g at Ballina, Lennox Head, Suffolk Park and Newrybar.

Magistrate R Denes ordered police to have the brief of evidence against Brown and his co-accused Buzz Harrison by January 22 and adjourned the matter until February 5.

Brown, who did not apply for bail has been ordered to appear by video-link on that occasion.
