Byron Bay flasher to face court

A 25-year-old Newcastle man will face Byron Bay Local Court next month after exposing himself in Byron Bay on Saturday night.

The incident occurred in the CBD about 9pm.

The man, who was intoxicated at the time, allegedly pulled his pants down and exposed himself to numerous passers by.

Police were called and the man arrested.

He was held in custody for several hours before being issued with court attendance notices.

In other news, an 18-year-old learner driver was charged with drink driving early on Sunday morning.

Police stopped the driver. The driver failed a roadside breath test and was arrested after being stopped by police on the Pacific Highway at Billinudgel.

The vehicle was not displaying "L" plates and contained two young passengers at the time.

The driver has been issued a court attendance notice and had his learners permit suspended.

He was one of seven people charged with drink driving offences over the weekend in the Tweed/Byron Local Area Command.
