Byron bypass route plan set for early 2015

A PREFERRED Route Report is currently being prepared for the proposed Byron Bay Bypass and is expected to be completed by early next year.

Byron Shire Council's director of infrastructure services, Phil Holloway, said the report was a desktop review of prior studies and would detail the advantages and constraints of the proposed Butler Street bypass.

"Advantages and constraints of the rail corridor will be included in the report," Mr Holloway said.

"Clarification from NSW Transport is also being sought that this option is not available, as has been previously advised."
