Buy some bargain autumn plants on March 24

PUT in your diary the next plant stall run by the Friends of the Lismore Rainforest Botanic Gardens.

It will be held on March 24 from 8am on Magellan St, Lismore.

The Friends’ volunteer Tracey Whitby said there would be plenty of bargains because the nursery was currently overstocked.

Orthosiphon aristatus (Cat’s Whiskers), Callicarpa pedunculata (Velvet Leaf), Dianella brevipedunculata (Sea Breeze), Elaneocarpus grandis (Blue Quandong), Toona ciliate (Red Cedar) and Castaospermum australe (Black Bean).

There will also be free information sheets and expert advice to assist all gardeners, whether beginners or experienced.

Funds raised by the Friends will be used for the upkeep of the gardens as well as new fixtures in the Hoop Pine forest walk and Sensory Gardens.

More information on the gardens and membership of the Friends can be found on their website.
