A LARGE collection of Casino memorabilia is about to go under the hammer on the weekend of August 9-10.

Local resident Paul George has been collecting for most of his life and the amount of antiques he has would make a museum envious.

"The local historical society came to have a cup of tea with me and check out my collection," he said.

It might be safer to list the items that Mr George doesn't have, than what he does when you see the number of sheds overflowing with links to our past.

There are typewriters, washing machines, cameras, old posters, gramophones, cooking implements, farm machinery, a bullock dray, carriages and much, much more.

There was even an old copy of the Richmond River Express Examiner from 1968.

Mr George estimates over 2000 items will be auctioned off by George and Fuhrmann over the weekend of August 9-10 and said there has already been interest in a few items.

To attend the auction contact Darren Perkins from George & Fuhrmann on 0428 660 324.
