Buy pudding to help kids in Africa with hearing impairments

VOLUNTEERS and staff at Father Mac's Heavenly Puddings are getting ready to bake hundreds of their famous puddings for the annual July fundraiser.

Pastoral Associate of Our Lady of the Rosary Parish at Alstonville, Sr Anne Hughes, said the fundraiser would support a project in Zimbabwe.

"This year we have been asked to support the Pedro Arrupe Centre at St Paul's Mission, Musami," she said.

"This is a centre for hearing impaired children from local rural homes.

"The centre provides accommodation for the children while attending classes at the local St Paul's Primary School."

More than 15 children with hearing impairments live at the centre, but it is facing a number of challenges affecting its operations.

People can purchase Father Mac's Puddings in Ballina at Troy Daly's Butchery, Reynolds Butchery and Cherry Street Butchery.

In Alstonville head to Summerland House Farm, Alstonville Plaza Butcher, NRMA Alstonville, and at Lismore at Foodworks.

Phone 6628 5474 or purchase puddings online at http://www.fathermac.org.au.
