Courthouse comedy

COMEDY is back on at the Courthouse Hotel in Mullumbimby when the regular monthly open mic returns tonight from 8pm.

The first Thursday of every month wannabe comics have the opportunity to experience the thrill of their very own five minutes of fame. Mandy

Nolan has been running these nights for over a year and she thinks it’s part of what makes a strong comedy scene.

Mandy encourages new and visiting comics to pop along. For those interested in becoming comics why not enrol in a comedy course through ACE.

The next one starts soon. Ring ACE on 6684 3374 for details.

Samba Blisstas coming to Ballina

THE phenomenon that has become The Samba Blisstas over the past seven years is coming to Ballina.

Due to the overwhelming demand classes have sprung up in Lismore on Monday nights, Bangalow Tuesdays, Kingscliff Wednesday nights, and from March 4 hopefully a contingent of the Samba Blisstas will settle in Ballina.

About 95 per cent of Samba Blisstas members are people from the community who have committed to one course then followed through with regular training to learn the ongoing routines.

Courses book out early so don’t miss this chance for the best thing to do on a Thursday night in Ballina. For more information, call Paul on 6680 4946.
