Bushfire threat near Nimbin

FIREFIGHTERS on the Northern Rivers are busy battling a bushfire in the Nimbin Rocks area, about 3km south west of Nimbin, in northern NSW.

About 2pm, fire crews were called to a bushfire burning along Morton Road. It is not known what started the fire.

A number of hectares of bushland have been destroyed and it is believed the fire is threatening some nearby buildings.
