Bus collides with semi-trailer

A BUS and a semi-trailer have collided just north of Casino.

The crash happened at about 3.45pm on the Summerland Way, five kilometres north of Casino, when a bus carrying 18 school children collided with a semi-trailer.

Luckily enough the school children and the bus driver escaped relatively unscathed.

One child, a nine-year-old girl, was taken to Lismore Base Hospital with a head laceration.

Police, Rural Fire Service and NSW Ambulance attended the scene.

Police are still on scene directing traffic and it's expected the road will be open shortly.

It's understood the school bus sustained moderate damage including two smashed windows.

The semi-trailer has to be towed.
