Storm delays restoration of roundabout in Casino

UPDATE 5.41PM: Richmond Valley Council has issued an update stating the stormy weather has delayed any roadworks to the roundabout at Johnston St.

"Council crews will return first thing in the morning..a section of the roundabout will remain closed," a spokesperson said.

INITIAL: TRAFFIC diversions are in place in Casino following a burst water pipe at the Johnston St and Summerland Way roundabout.

A spokesperson for NSW Transport Management Centre said Richmond Valley Council traffic controllers and the utility company were on scene.

She said there was currently no forecast for how long the repairs would take.

One quarter of the roundabout has been closed.

This means traffic going from Grafton to Lismore has been diverted along Centre St to Dyraaba St, then Walker St and back onto Johnston St.

Traffic travelling from Grafton to Kyogle has not been affected.

Neither has traffic travelling from Lismore to Grafton and Kyogle.

However, any traffic going from Kyogle to Lismore or Grafton has been diverted on Dyraaba St, then Walker St and back onto Johnston St.
