THEY'RE a fair way from the centre ring, but the rabbits hopping around the circuit at the Northern NSW Rabbit Hopping and Companion Club's shed is certainly getting the attention of kids at this year's North Coast National.

The relatively young Lismore-based club can usually be found at Kadina Park, but for the duration of the National, the club has set up shop at Lismore showgrounds, where visitors to the North Coast National can watch the bunnies in action or even bring along their own pet rabbits to join in on the fun.

Club president Fran Boston said any rabbit could be introduced to competitive hopping with a little kindness and attention from its owner and an "H" harness.
