Broken hand a blow to former FNC baseballer

QUEENSLAND Under-18 pitcher Kodey Wilford has fractured his hand, putting him out of the 2016 national baseball carnival in Sydney next month.

Wilford and Taliesin O'Meara were selected as pitchers from the Far North Coast team after the State carnival in September.

Both are versatile baseballers, good hitters and capable of playing a number of positions.

Because FNC plays winter baseball it is a requirement to turn out in summer baseball in the Brisbane competition to keep their skills sharp.

Kodey plays for Surfers Paradise and last Saturday against Redlands he fractured his hand while trying to steal second base.
