Britt and her Bra Boy Mark Matthews ride waves of joy

ROCKHAMPTON'S Britt Jones is riding the waves with her professional surfer and Bra Boys beau Mark Matthews.

Britt and Mark have been together for three years and reside in Maroubra Beach, commonly known as Bra Boys turf.

The 22-year-old shares her time between Sydney and a range of coastal paradises around the world but said she definitely missed her home town.

"I miss my family a lot and I really miss going to Pacino's for dinner," she said.

"I usually go back home at least twice a year to see my family and I'm hoping to bring Mark with me next time and take him to Agnes Waters."

Britt said she was lucky to have a job that allowed her to travel with Mark throughout his surfing career.

"I'm a freelance graphic designer and occasional videographer, which means I can work on the go," she said.

"Waves can pop up all over the world and it's his job to surf them and, if I'm lucky, I get to go with him.

"My favourite place of all time would be a toss-up between the Mentawai Islands in Indonesia and the North Shore in Hawaii."

The former Rockhampton Grammar School student met the Australian surfer at the Gold Coast when she was studying at Bond University and said their first date was, of course, on the water.

"For our first date he took me stand-up paddle boarding," she said.

"We go surfing a lot. I used to do nippers at Emu Park so I knew a little bit about surfing but my surfing has definitely improved now that I have a live-in coach.

"When I met Mark I didn't know about the Bra Boys and, being a girl, I don't think I paid any attention to that kind of media."
