Rabbitohs lose star No.7 Reynolds to knee injury

SOUTH Sydney have lost Adam Reynolds for the next month due to a knee injury.

The No.7 has undergone surgery after suffering an injury in the Rabbitohs' comprehensive first round 32-20 loss to the Warriors.

"I didn't realise it was as serious as it was," centre Dane Gagai said of Reynolds' injury.

"He toughed it out. He pushed through the game and I thought he did a great job.

"It's disappointing but we have to push forward.

"Whoever plays that role will do a good job."'

While the injury was described as minor, Reynolds required a clean-out which will see him sidelined until at least Round 5.

With Reynolds sidelined, Rabbitohs coach Anthony Seibold has several options at his disposal for how to fill the void.

Veteran hooker Robbie Farah played the pre-season trials at halfback while Reynolds was sidelined with an ankle issue.

Young gun Adam Doueihi is another consideration having also trialled there.

"We've got a few options there," front-rower George Burgess said.

"Robbie or Adam. Either one of those guys will do the job."
