Bratz win US court decision, Barbie forced to get over it

BARBIE got her knickers in a knot when a new generation of young fashionistas proved just as popular with teenage girls but a ruling in a US court this week has left the middle-aged beauty queen no choice but to get over it.

Since Bratz dolls first appeared on toy shelves almost a decade ago, Barbie manufacturer Mattel has been trying to sue its rival for damages.

The company claimed Bratz creator Carter Bryant came up with idea while working as a designer for the Barbie franchise but then launched the product with competitor MGA Entertainment.

Mattel was originally awarded more than $100million in compensation but, according to News.com, the US Court of Appeals this week ruled that the case had been improperly litigated and ordered both sides to "play nice".
