Brandolinis rocket through to finals on The Voice

CLUNES siblings Gabriel and Cecilia Brandolini have rocketed straight through to the finals of The Voice after"Gabe and Cecifying" Empire of the Sun's Walking on a Dream.

The pair, who had already advanced further than any other duet in the show's history, wowed judges with an acoustic version of the song and their trademark harmonies.

The Brandolinis had been up against four other acts, including another duet, ZK,  from Will.I.Am's team and all were lauded by the judges, with Will declaring "you guys were freaking awesome!".

At the same time, Will noted the impact of nerves on all the performers, saying each of them had appeared a little too tense on stage.

Ahead of their performance, Gabriel said he was concerned Will might feel they had changed the song too much, but Will said he loved what they had done with it.

"I didn't mind the change, it makes it more than, like, karaoke," Will said.

"I love how Gabriel and Cecilia voice their opinion. You just gotta give them the freedom and the encouragement to make magic. Sometimes that's all you need," he told the cameras.

"It felt to me like it was a challenge and he expected us to 'Gabe and Cecify' it," Gabriel said.
