Boy, 15, stabbed in stomach on Gold Coast

A 15-year-old boy has been stabbed in the stomach on the Gold Coast.

A Queensland Ambulance Service spokesman said the boy suffered blood loss and was taken to the Gold Coast University Hospital in a stable condition.

The stabbing occurred at Miami, about nine kilometres south of Surfer's Paradise, where this week's schoolies celebrations are centred, at about 12.50pm.

It is not yet known if the stabbing involved schoolies, up to 35,000 of whom have flocked to the Gold Coast celebrating the end of their final high school year.

The QAS spokesman said paramedics were called to the corner of Hillcrest Parade and Pacific Avenue to treat him.
