Big Boxing Day sales

CHRISTMAS retail sales have been good on the Northern Rivers, but many are predicting that Boxing Day will be even busier.

Lismore Shopping Square manager Geoff Gooch said the centre had been ‘flat out’ during the festive season.

“We’re doing very well. The crowds have been strong. We think Boxing Day will be pretty big too,” he said.

“I think there are a lot of holiday-makers in town at the moment, which is great.”

Ballina Chamber of Commerce chairman Glenn Costello said members had reported a ‘steady Christmas so far’, and were expecting post-Christmas sales to do well.
