Boxing champ Hector Camacho clinging to life after shooting

UPDATE: The condition of three-time former world champion Hector Camacho worsened overnight.

The 50-year-old's heart stopped at one point, although he was clinging to life.

Camacho and a friend were both shot while they sat in a car outside a bar in his home town of Bayamon in Puerto Rico on Tuesday night.

A police spokesman said officers found nine small bags of cocaine in the dead friend's pocket and a 10th bag open inside the car.

EARLIER: Three-time former world champion Hector "Macho" Camacho is in critical condition after being shot in the neck in Puerto Rico.

Police said Camacho, 50, was shot in the face while in a car outside a bar in Bayamon, one of the cities that make up the San Juan metropolitan area.

A second man also was shot and killed but authorities said it was not clear what relationship, if any, Camacho had with the other victim.
