Bowlers to discuss their future

LENNOX Head men's bowlers will meet shortly to decide where they will play.

The club's men's and women's sections are seeking temporary homes after owners Ramsgate closed the town's bowlo.

Cherry Street Ballina and Ballina RSL have offered use of their greens while attempts are made to form a new village club.

Men's bowling club treasurer George Bowden said a meeting would take place over the next week - and urged as many players as possible to attend.

"We would like to get as many bowlers together as possible," he said.

"Some of our bowlers may leave and join other clubs, so we need to act together as a group."

Players have been seeking a new home after Ramsgate opted to close the club's doors, citing huge financial losses.

The Sydney company has given a working committee six months to get a viable club running again and will allow it to use the Lennox Head banner.

Discussions are continuing over the club's women's section.
