Excellent weekend of action at East Lismore Bowling Club

STAN Goulding, John Helmood and Mark Bayliss proved a formidable team while South Lismore representatives also had reason to smile on an excellent weekend of action at East Lismore Bowling Club.

Goulding, Helmood and Bayliss united to take the triples competition at the Nielson St club's June carnival.

Wet conditions at Saturday's event made life tough for all competitors, but that did not stop the leading trio taking honours.

Stuart Wade, Barry Harmon and Bill Griffin secured second spot with some solid play.

The Ballina contingent of Gary Scott, Des Hickey and Paul Hutchinson finished third.

Action continued on Sunday with a pairs competition, featuring three games of 16 ends.

South Lismore pair Ben McCall and Jamie Eichorn once again underlined their prowess with victory.

Lismore Workers Heights pair Trevor Clarke and Kel Lavis took second spot.

It was a successful weekend of action, with scores of players from across the region participating.
