Bowlers at Coraki help out young Mick

GENEROUS donors have been thanked after helping one of the region's young sporting heroes take a step closer to a dream overseas trip.

About $1200 was raised ata fund-raising bowls day for Mick Bussell.

The talented athlete needs to raise more than $10,000 to help pay for a trip for him and his mother Michelle to compete in North America later this year.

Social players attended the recent Coraki Bowling Club event, enjoying light-hearted competition, a sausage sizzle and other fun and games.

Mrs Bussell thanked every-one who assisted with the event as well as Renee Blaikie and Beck Herbert for their ongoing support.

Promising athletics star Mick is hoping to participate in the trip alongside other talented juniors.

The family has now organised a fund-raising trivia night at the bowling club on Saturday, May 11.

Anyone who wants more details or who can donate prizes should contact Mrs Bussell on 66832841.
