Book week takes kids on safari

ON WEDNESDAY, August 19 the Lismore Public School community came together to celebrate Book Week.

The day was a roaring success with parents, students, staff and animals all getting into the spirit of the day.

The Lismore Preschool students also came along to enjoy the festivities.

The theme of Book Week was 'Reading Safari' and students and teachers dressed up appropriately.

We had zebras, gorillas, lions, monkeys and game wardens all in attendance.

We also had the traditional characters such as wizards, witches and super heroes.

The day was a wonderful example of the whole community working together for the benefit of the children.

The canteen also provided a special safari lunch.

Pictured is a cross section of students, preschoolers and staff in their costumes.

It was a great celebration of Book Week.
