It's been a long wait, but Bonalbo finally has a new GP

THERE is a new face in the Bonalbo Health Service and a very welcome one in the form of Dr Sunil Sunil, who has taken on the job of the local GP.

It has been a wild and somewhat uncertain ride for the small community after Bonalbo's doctor of 30 years, Dr Trevor Tierney, finally left his position.

While locums filled the gap and Dr Kate Ealing was in residence for the last year, Bonalbo finally have a permanent doctor again.

"This is my first time in Bonalbo, and it's a good place to work," Dr Sunil said.

"People have been very helpful."

Before coming to Australia, Dr Sunil worked in New Zealand for 18 years in Auckland after studying to be a doctor in India.

"I have been in Australia working in Coonamble for two to three years," he said.

"I like working in another rural town."
