MARK "Bomber" Thompson has been charged with drug trafficking.
The former Essendon player and Geelong premiership coach fronted court on Tuesday afternoon and was granted bail on a $20,000 surety and under strict conditions.
Thompson faced Melbourne Magistrates Court on a number of drug offences. He must surrender his passport, live at a fixed address and cannot leave the state of Victoria.
Police also alleged during the hearing that Thompson's DNA was found on packaging containing more than 33g of ice, 4.2g of amphetamines and an LSD tablet.
Victoria Police confirmed a 54-year-old Port Melbourne man had been arrested and charged with a number of offences.
The charges are trafficking ecstasy and methyl amphetamine, and possessing amphetamine, ecstasy, LSD and a prescription drug without prescription.
Police said the charges related to a search warrant which was executed at a Port Melbourne address on January 5.
