Bogut wants the NBA title, not records

Aussie Andrew Bogut admits he's "not a huge numbers guy", so isn't getting too excited by the number 73.

That's the magical figure of wins his Golden State Warriors will reach if they beat the Memphis Grizzlies today in the final round before playoffs, surpassing the regular-season NBA record of 72 the great Chicago Bulls notched in 1995-96.

"I'd rather have a ring," the seven-foot centre told reporters. "If they guaranteed the ring by winning tomorrow and we couldn't get 73, I'd take the ring."

Bogut was rested from the Warriors' win No.71, against the Grizzlies on the weekend, before returning for the record-equalling victory over the San Antonio Spurs.

Fellow Australian Joe Ingles, meanwhile, will also have a win on his mind, for very different reasons.

His Utah Jazz travels to Los Angeles where 20,000 Lakers fans will hope to see Kobe Bryant be sent off into retirement on a high.

The Jazz, however, will be desperate for victory to secure the eighth and final Western Conference playoff spot while also hoping the Houston Rockets, currently eighth, lose at home to the struggling Sacramento Kings.

Patty Mills' San Antonio Spurs are second in the west and will complete the regular season with a match against the Dallas Mavericks, who they may meet in the first round of playoffs, while in the east Matthew Dellavedova's ladder-leading Cleveland Cavaliers take on Aron Baynes' eighth-placed Detroit Pistons.
