Helicopter called in to recover body

THE body of a person found at the base of Minyon Falls yesterday will be removed this morning.

Police were called to the falls yesterday afternoon after a bushwalker found the body.

The Westpac Life Saver Rescue Helicopter was called to help retrieve the body. However, at the time the helicopter was flying a patient from the Urbenville hospital to Lismore Base hospital.

With night falling, it was decided to leave the recovery of the body until this morning.

However, the recovery of the body was further delayed by fog, with the helicopter having to wait for fog to clear before it could fly in for the recovery operation.

At this stage it was not believed the death was suspicious.
