Boat rescue south of Byron Bay

A MOTORBOAT which broke down south of Byron Bay early this morning was rescued by the Ballina Coast Guard.

Police monitored the situation after the skipper of the boat said they were in trouble.

The Ballina Coast Guard was called to go and rescue the boat about 2.45am.

It was towed in to Ballina at 6.15am for repairs.
