BMW sedan goes for early morning swim in Evans River

EMERGENCY Services were on the scene of a incident in Evans Head where a car ended up in the Evans River this morning.

A spokesperson from Fire and Rescue NSW said the incident occurred around 5am at the old boat ramp off Bundjalung Road, South Evans Head.

The owner of the white BMW sedan, Lucas Watson of Kyogle, said he came down to Evans Head for some fishing and while he went to the toilets at the old boatramp, the car slipped in to the river.

Evans Head Fire & Rescue captain Ralph Lohse said the car floated for a while and eventually sunk.
