BMA dispute may have end in sight

THE seemingly unending industrial relations dispute between BHP Billiton Mitsubishi Alliance and a trio of coal mining unions appears to finally have an end point.

After 22 months of strikes and Fair Work battles, BMA - alongside the Construction Forestry Mining and Energy Union, Australian Manufacturing Workers Union and Electrical Trades Union - has announced a ballot for workers on the latest enterprise agreement.

The vote is expected to be held before the end of October.

All sides have officially stated they will make no comment until after the ballot is held.
