Big wet keeps ovals closed

LISMORE City Council has declared its sporting ovals will remain out of bounds as the effects of the recent wild weather continue to bite.

The council has extended the closure of its sporting pitches until this Wednesday.

Several of the ovals remain waterlogged and unfit for use after last week's deluges.

Further updates will be provided on Wednesday about 10am.

Anyone seeking updates on ground closures should contact the council's hotline on 6627 4111.

Scores of ovals across the region are also currently shut or unusable.
