Big finish for surfers

THE last comp of the year was held in clean 1.2m waves on the bar for most of the morning until the tide filled in and moved surfers to the inside bank. This was great for some, including Kane who posted the only 10 point ride of the year.

The finals for the competition coincided with the finals for the Pipeline Masters and all the crew were quite excited to see a new world champion crowned while surfing their local comp.

The presentation was held after the competition back at the bowling club, where the following people received trophies for their great surfing throughout the year.

Micro Groms: 1st Pacha, 2nd Yani. Grommets: 1st Ben, 2nd Jack, 3rd Guy. Juniors: 1st Hamish, 2nd Harry, 3rd Thomas. Opens: 1st Kane, 2nd Neil, 3rd Kev. Seniors: 1st Kane, 2nd Neil, 3rd Kev and Biso taking out the masters. The surfer's surfer of the year voted by the club members on the day was Kane as everyone liked to push their surfing while he was in the water.

The clubman of the year went to Biso for his consistent efforts keeping the competition on track throughout the year.

A huge thank you to all our sponsors for the year for the continued support and we hope to have another great year next year.

The AGM is on Sunday, January 27, at the Bowlo.

The time will be posted on Facebook.
