'Big' Burgess gears up for Bunnies showdown against Sharks

EVERYTHING about young Rabbitohs prop George Burgess is big - including the expectations ahead of tonight's clash against the Sharks at ANZ Stadium.

The 20-year-old, who stands 194cm and weighs 120kg, turned in a powerhouse performance in the round one victory over the Roosters.

With older brothers Sam (suspended) and Luke (injured) missing, George will be the Burgess family representative tonight and coach Michael Maguire said one good performance was not enough.

"George himself understands that it's about performance each week, and he needs to do that again," Maguire said.

Dave Tyrell comes into the Rabbitohs line-up for Sam Burgess, while the Sharks have been rewarded for their emotional 12-10 win against the Gold Coast in round one with interim coach Peter Sharp naming an unchanged team.

Prop Ben Ross, set to take on his former team after switching to Cronulla from South Sydney at the start of the 2012 season, said morale was still high at the club despite the ongoing ASADA doping investigation and mid-week resignation of chairman Damian Irvine.

"It's been really good with Sharpie - he's a really funny character. The boys are really upbeat," Ross said.
