Bicycle rider hit by car at Ballina

A 61-year-old man has been taken to hospital after he fell from his bike and was hit by a car at Ballina this morning.

A NSW Ambulance spokeswoman said paramedics were called to Hamilton St at 11.15am after reports a man on a bicycle had been hit by a car.

When paramedics arrived they found the 61-year-old man had fallen from his bicycle and then was hit by a car.

The man was treated at the scene for chest and shoulder injuries.

The spokeswoman said he was taken to Casino Hospital in a stable condition by ambulance.
