Bexhill students are waste wise

BEXHILL Public School is the first school to receive accreditation under an education program which results in a school waste policy and action plan.

Lismore City mayor Jenny Dowell presented the school with an accreditation certificate at a ceremony on Tuesday.

“It is important for everyone to take waste management seriously and it is a credit to the whole Bexhill Public School community that they have embraced the Waste Wise Ways program and put it into practice within the school environment,” she said.

Bexhill Public received its accreditation for:-
• conducting specific in-class lessons relating to waste management and sustainability,
• actively participating in the school battery collection program,
• recycling paper, food scraps and recyclables within the school and
• creating a school waste policy and a simple action plan.
