Berry good news for Curryfest as major sponsor announced

WOOLGOOLGA Curryfest is set to be a berry good time, thanks to the announcement of major sponsors OzBerries.

The announcement was made this week that the local company had jumped on board for the April event, something the Curryfest committee and the team at OzBerries were very excited about.

"While the growers associated with OzBerries sponsor many local sporting teams and events, this is the first time OzBerries itself has directly sponsored a local event like this," OzBerries general manager Kamaldeep Singh Clair said.

"We're really excited about it, we're really looking forward to participating in and being part of the community."

Event manager Tegan Ewart said securing OzBerries as the major sponsor was a huge step forward in preparations for this year's event.

"It's so exciting," Ms Ewart said.

"I'm really happy OzBerries, being a local company, is on board supporting the festival.

"It really plays to the spirit of the entire festival, the community coming together to create a successful event and enjoy all the amazing things our region offers."

Set down for April 13, Curryfest will take over Market and Beach Sts for a cultural and culinary delight.

On top of the usual live entertainment and food stalls, this year's festival is set to have a dedicated children's entertainment area with rides and a Bollywood on the Beach film night.

Also planned are a number of events in the lead-up to promote the festival, including an exclusive premiere screening of a blockbuster Bollywood movie at Birch Carroll and Coyle Cinemas and a Bollywood Ball.
