Ben Simmons on track for NBA debut

BASKETBALL: Ben Simmons has received a scan on his foot, which showed no setbacks as the Australian point forward edges closer toward his NBA debut.

The Philadelphia 76ers announced that Simmons' recovery is on schedule, after fracturing the fifth metatarsal bone in his right foot on the final day of training camp.

Simmons underwent surgery in early October, and has since begun travelling and practising with the team.

The 76ers are in the midst of a hot stretch, having won eight of their past 11 games, so the progress of Simmons' rehabilitation is just more good news for a franchise that looks to have turned their fortunes around.
