The Beef Week Queen is back

SHE works at the Casino meatworks by night and raises cattle and kids by day.

Now Rebecca Scofield can add the role of Beef Week Queen to her busy schedule.

Rebecca, 21, was officially crowned on Saturday and will take on the role of ambassador for Casino over the next 12 months.

"I remember when I was younger, looking up to the Beef Week Queen and thinking she was a beautiful, elegant woman, sitting up there on her throne," she said.

Rebecca grew up on a property at Mummulgum, where her parents had beef cattle and horses. She and her partner run beef cattle and have put in a crop of oats and lupin.

They also have an 18-month-old son, Braxton.

"I think I'll make a good ambassador for Casino and show young women can do anything; work, be an ambassador and raise a family," she said.

Rebecca said she felt excited and proud when she was announced Beef Week Queen.

She said it was particularly exciting to see the festival come back so strong this year after it was cancelled in 2007.
