Beat it to Nimbin to get in MardiGrass groove

VARIETY is the word for this year's Musical MardiGrass, with local and interstate artists performing hip-hop, indie, rock and reggae in three stages this weekend at Nimbin.

Singer-songwriter Essie Thomas is the artistic director of the festival. She explained that "we have worked hard to offer a range of music for all tastes and ages. This is a festival for everyone."

Tomorrow night will showcase local artists on the main stage.

Ash Farlow will start proceedings at 6pm, followed by MC

Kaliba at 7pm, Diana Anaid will take the stage at 8pm, followed by Essie Thomas.

Then get your dancing shoes on for The Floating Bridges, followed by legendary locals Pagan Love Cult at 11pm

Saturday will have music all day at the Nimbin Market space and hip-hop workshops between noon and 2pm at Mingle Park.

The main stage starts at 5pm with Sydney's Warchief, performances from A Little Province, The Floating Bridges and The Rusty Datsuns at 8pm.

"Felicity Lawless will launch her brand new album at 9pm, a special appearance from Die Rude and the soulful tunes of Chocolate Strings to finish us off at 11pm".

Sunday's program at the main stage will start directly after The Cannabis Law Reform Rally at 4pm.
