Bangalow’s 11 goals highlights huge gulf in women’s comp

BANGALOW highlighted the vast gulf between themselves and the other Far North Coast women's premier league soccer teams with an 11-0 thrashing of Alstonville in the Callan McMillan Memorial Shield final at Oakes Oval, Lismore, on Friday night.

While the Bluedogs were expected to win, the huge margin in a lopsided contest demonstrated just how far Bangalow is ahead of the pack.

Top striker Jade Bianchetti netted four goals, Miranda Sochacki three, with two each for player of the match Laani Winkler Harding and Hollie Jarrett.

Byron Bay defeated Casino 3-1 in the Open B division final.

Kamley Lyndon starred for the Bay, scoring two goals, and she was named player of the match.
