Urunga took the early lead with a goal from flanker Craig Simpson but the Bluedogs hit back with a clinical near-post finish from Byron Milne to level by the break.

Both sides created chances in an open second half before extra time was needed.

Raiders sub Emar Foran provided the winning goal, leaving Bluedogs coach Neil Fuller with mixed emotions.

“We missed Joel Rudgley and Ihsan Savran in midfield but still put up a competitive performance,” he said.

“But credit to Urunga, who were very well structured defensivly and just had a bit more spring in their step.”
