Ballina woman yells at would-be intruder, scares him away

A BALLINA woman has scared off a would-be intruder who tried to break into her unit while she slept.

Police said the man tried to get through a window of her ground floor unit in Temple St about 2.30am this morning.

The woman woke up after hearing noises coming from her ensuite and, after getting out of bed to investigate, she saw a man outside the window.

She yelled at him and he ran away.

She told police his head was covered, and she also reported damage to the flyscreen.
