Ballina Rotary’s Bookfest to bring the bargains

THE Rotary Club of Ballina's Bookfest, one of Ballina's largest sale of pre-loved books, DVDs, CDs and records, is on next week.

The sale will be held from January 11 to January 16 at a pop-up shop at 159 River Street, Ballina, which is next to Beachside Bargains.

The shop will be open from 10am to 3.30pm on Monday to Friday, and from 10am to 12.30pm on Saturday.

Due to the huge response to the club's call for donations of books, the Rotarians have decided to declare this year's Bookfest as a "clearance sale".

That means the Rotarians will be selling books by the bag full - at either $10 or $5 per bag of books, depending on the size of the bag purchased at the front counter.

But you can bring your own bag to fill - it will still cost only $10 or $5 per bag, depending on its size.

If you just want one book, that will cost $2.

You might also be a lucky shopper and get two extra books free.

Bookfest has raised almost $40,000 during the past 10 years.

These proceeds have been distributed by the Rotary Club of Ballina among its local charities.
